Screech Owl/Kestrel Box with a 3-inch entrance hole. Comes complete with 1 bag of wood shavings and placement instructions. It also features a special perch for owls to roost on and look out. Larger houses 4H, 5H, 6H and 6BH all have shavings in them because normally these birds do not bring anything but feathers to the nest. All houses need to be cleaned out before the next season starts. We suggest doing it in the spring so the birds can roost in them during the winter. 22-inch by 8.25-inch by 11.25-inch. Stovall products feature all cedar construction, stainless steel and dichromate plated screws, washers, hooks and chains, hand sanded, assembled with screws, many products coated with wood protector which accents the wood grain and the natural warmth of cedar. Environmentally green practices – hand sorted down graded lumber. I put my screech owl box up this winter, about 15 feet high, facing south and backing up to a grove of trees. The squirrels loved this thing. They were in and out of it all the time, and they would frequently sit inside poking their heads out of the hole staring at me. That wasn't what I had in mind, but it was kind of cute in its own way.
Then last week I was working in the yard, and I noticed the squirrel was staring at me. I mean really staring at me, like he was mad at me or something. Then I noticed his eyes were really big. And gold. I was contemplating the prospect of an angry squirrel with large golden eyes, when he burst forth from the hole in a flapping of wings and disappeared into the trees.
I began sitting outside in the evening, just watching. After comparison with pictures on the web, there is no doubt that two Eastern Screech Owls are living in my owl box. I wanted to include pictures, and I will follow up if I get some, but right now they are only coming out after it is too dim to photograph.
I have no prior experience with any kind of bird house. I just bought it and followed the instructions, which were to put the wood shavings in and nail it to a tree. It couldn't have been easier, and the box looks great, blending in with the surroundings. If you live in the right area and have the right kind of yard, and you don't want to build it yourself, I strongly recommend this Stovall 6H Screech Owl Box. It was money well spent.

This owl box is everything I expected it to be. Well constructed and less expensive than the one at my local hardware store. Buy it, you'll like it!

Nice box, but zero instructions!.. No instructions on how to hang it, where to hang it, how to get out the materials packed inside.
A little gibberish on the back that made no sense. No way this was actually made in Michigan. More likely made in china. Also, no way to contact the company that made it! No phone number, no web address, no e-mail!
