This is supposed to be STRIPED and 99 % of it is the CHEAP tiny solid black oiled sunflower with a few striped seeds thrown in.
I need striped for winter for my parrots and they cannot eat the small solid black seeds..
i am going to have to throw $60 worth of seed outside for the wild birds.
This bag is worth $34 for the black OILED.

I passed this product by a couple of times because of those two reviews. The only thing I can figure out that makes sense is that those people work for the competition, because my experience is the exact opposite of theirs. So here's my experience (three 50 lb bags): High quality seed with very minimal hull waste, nearly imperceptible. NO, not one, black oil sunflower seed. No fillers. I know seeds, for fifteen years I was married to a zoological garden bird curator. Trust me, there is nothing wrong with this seed.

Bought this because where I live large bags of Striped Sunflower seeds are not available. When I opened the bag it looked like quite a bit of Black Oil sunflower seeds were included (smaller seeds). Today I did a little test, I screened 8 lbs of seed thru a 1/4" wire screen. The result was 6 lbs of Black Oil and 2 lbs of Striped. That seems like a pretty high % of Black Oil seeds in a product that is being sold as Striped Sunflower seeds.
