I bought 3 of these for the martin houses I have in my pastures. The poles work well and assembly is a breeze. The problem is the brittle acrylic snaps that are used to hold the metal sections together. They snap if you try to adjust the pole once it's up.

It does what it is supposed to do. For the price it is OK. They could have made it better. It is hard to push the buttons to get it to go up and down. One of the plastic buttons broke when I was first putting it together. Fortunately there was an extra one in the package. Also the bird house swang back and forth in the wind a lot. I was worried, but it has survived a whole breeding season. I still wish the pole was stiffer.You do not need to get the adapter if you buy their bird house as the house already is set to recieve the triangle pole.

I have read about snaps breaking and other difficulties with the pole and its assembly. Mine turned up today and all the snaps were pre-installed, and all in the top section, so I had nothing to do. I imagine, since the snaps are installed on the top section, they go into the purple martin house that I have assembled ready for the pole to arrive. The other sections of the pole are held together with a metal pin. The instructions seem straightforward and nothing seems difficult to do. If I had to make one criticism, it would be to complain that there was no ground sleeve included with the whole asembly. Really, that is a crucial part since it is much easier to remove the pole in the winter. It should not be sold as an optional extra.
